ZZA LADIES
“Each person has a destiny, hers was to create a fashion label that would merge Western and Oriental elements and help women of Anatolian background in Turkey to make a living.”
(New York Times Article, Souad Mekhennet about Zemra Acarli)

The work of ZEMZEM ATELIER is rooted in a commitment to Slow Fashion and social continuity.

At its core is a network of women whose knowledge exists outside formal systems, yet is deeply embedded in generations of handcraft and lived experience.

ZEMZEM ATELIER collaborates with women who are often excluded from conventional work structures, recognising their skills not as informal, but as essential.

The work is designed to integrate into their lives, allowing them to create from within their own environments, while generating independent income and long-term stability.
Over time, this has evolved into a collective of more than 75 women, forming the foundation of the work.

What is created here is not only product, but a shift in perception:
where skill becomes visible, where contribution is valued, and where confidence extends beyond the individual into the family structure and the next generation.

This approach is reflected in everything ZEMZEM ATELIER creates. It defines the purpose and intention behind the work, shaping it beyond product into a living system.
Not as an addition, but as the core of its existence.
